  • Kilmore Parish is situated near the south east corner of Ireland in the diocese of Ferns. This diocese covers most of County Wexford and small parts of the surrounding counties of Carlow and Wicklow.

There are numerous ways of travelling to Kilmore parish. The most straightforward is to take the Wexford - Rosslare road (N25). About three miles from Wexford (or about nine miles from Rosslare Harbour), turn south on the well-marked road. Continue along this until you reach the small village of Kilmore, as shown on the map below.

The parish is in an area called the Barony of Forth, which still has vestiges of the old Yola dialect. The northern part of the parish is very fertile and produces excellent crops. The south is more windswept as it borders the Atlantic Ocean. Kilmore Quay is a very modern busy fishing port with a marina. South of this port are the Saltee Islands, home to a variety of sea birds.

The lower map shows how the parish is divided. By clicking on the various churches, monasteries or castles you will get further information.
