  • Kilmore Central Primary School

January 5th, 1973, was an historic day for the parish of Kilmore, when its new central school, Réalt na Mara, was officially opened. At that time it was the largest rural primary school in Ireland. With accommodation for around 400 pupils it replaced the five smaller schools in the parish.

    Scoil Réalt na Mara

Scoil Réalt na Mara stands on the fringe of Kilmore village on a site made available through the good offices of the late Mr John Rochford. It incorporates all the latest ideas in school buildings, and is splendidly adapted to the modern methods of teaching and primary school programme.

During 2007-8 the school buildings were renovated.

The Principal is Ms Yvonne Miller NT.
